Any given day

Any given day,
It could happen,
To us, our babies,
Our family, our friends.

Places we take for granted
As being safe
Well, we used to anyway.

Today, in a snap, transformed to a war zone.

Then what?

Thoughts, prayers, discussions, debates.

But action, no.

Decades of watching this destruction
Yet we stick to our guns
Failing to realize, failing to recognize
Our strategy is failing, it fixes nothing.

Some are satisfied,
Wearing blinders
Hiding eyes from the truth.

While in our hearts we wait,
We know
We will mourn again.

Happy Birthday Big Brother
Faceless
