As I’ve said in previous posts over the last few months, I’ve been feeling like my surfing has stagnated recently — and it’s been frustrating to not know why.
A few weeks ago, I randomly met someone in the water while I was surfing in Santa Cruz – – Carol, an amazingly friendly and energetic surfer who cheers for others when they catch a great wave. It was incredible to surf with Carol and her friends that day, who were all so supportive of each other; everyone was sharing waves, as opposed to competing for them. I realized I need to surf with more women.
