Swell Time

Moving forward, just not sure where we're going, but at least we're having a swell time when we do it.

Those dirty words

Ralphie-Soap

Most of us reserve the term dirty words to the words that landed a bar of soap in Ralphie’s mouth in “A Christmas Story”. I think there are a few other words we should consider adding to the dirty list. Many of us use these words daily and don’t consider the power the words hold.

I’m referring to the words that draw lines and distinctions between groups.

You know those words. Those words over there. Words that are them and not us.

Words that exclude people and include others.

While most of us don’t think to wash out someone’s mouth if they hear those words, some will nod in agreement.

It’s time to clean up our vocabulary and drop those words and instead include them in the conversation.
