Moving forward, just not sure where we're going, but at least we're having a swell time when we do it.
A long time ago Eddie Murphy was part of the cast of Saturday Night Live. Once he made a fantastic sketch where he put on make-up and was transformed into a white guy. In the sketch all of the white people he encountered gave him money and treated him like an upstanding citizen just because of how he looked.
Today, there is a commercial on television now where a DJ dresses up in a suit and tie and doles out financial advice. The people in the commercial think he is an expert and they base their decision on how he looks.
Have we really made any progress on judging people by the quality of their character and what is on the inside? Or do we rely to heavily on the biases and perceptions we have learned through our lifetimes?
