Swell Time

Moving forward, just not sure where we're going, but at least we're having a swell time when we do it.

Welcome to Cutter life, a story from my first week onboard Northland

Cutter life is very different from life on land. Here is a story about one of my first experiences of ship life. To give you some background I had only been onboard about a week. To people onboard the ship this was normal, but I was mortified because I didn’t know anyone and I did not know that things breaking was pretty routine.

You never know who you will have an impact on. DCC Mary Cunningham did not know until 10 years later when I got to share with her just how important the moment was for me.

I’d also like to note (because I like to brag on people) DCC Mary Cunningham was the first DCC Chief in the Coast Guard!
